A second, unnamed Yankees minor-leaguer has tested positive for coronavirus infection, per Jon Heyman of MLB Network (via Twitter). The prior positive test emerged two days ago.

The Yankees and the rest of the league have already halted Spring Training, of course. But this transmission is surely the result of prior interactions between the players.

I have no idea why they thought it was a good idea to keep camps open after the league shut-down.

If anyone needs beer, wine or liquor to get through this troubling time.  Wells Liquors on York Road takes phone orders and when you come they just put it in your trunk and you don't have to have any human contact.  What is St Patricks Day without beer after all.

But USPS mail sorting  facilities are open. UPS and Fed Ex,etc. Those all have many employees basically sorting mail and packages  in an enclosed environment.

I thought the bulk of that was automatic sorters, and in the case of DC, analyzing every mail for Amtrax.
Even if they sent the players home, there is no guarantee they would not get it in contact with somethere there, either.

Each MLB team will set aside $1 million.dollars for ballpark employees. Good.

Orioles, other MLB teams to donate $1 million each in support of ballpark employees during coronavirus delay - Baltimore Sun https://www.baltimoresun.com/coronavirus/bs-sp-orioles-pay-ballpark-employees-20200317-diifdwv36namhlgmqjqrvzwlgy-story.html

Yeah but some players will get it but not the entire team.  Which is what you are risking by having them all together.

A little thought exercise.  Seven NBA players have tested positive.  There are, let’s say, 450 NBA players.  That’s 1.5%.  Now apply that to the entire population.  5000ish positive cases.  Yeah right.  Also three guys were asymptomatic.  They were able to get tests?
