Horrible strategy there. You have to know they walk Pedro and you would have to take Means out. I would just have let Rio and Pedro swing away.

Or do we counter with a RH bat like McKenna?

With the bases loaded I like DJ's ability to get on base.  Plus I would save McKenna to be a defensive replacement for Mountcastle if we get a lead and Mountcastle bata one more time.

He might have been planning on taking Means out anyway.  He said he was going to baby him after his all time high pitch count and inning total last time, and Means did labor a bit last inning.
