I heard from a friend that Haskin got hit in the head with a pitch a couple of days ago and is expected to be out for the rest of the year, hopefully returning for Fall instructs.

He is done for the year, but with a thumb injury, apparently. All the beat reporters noted this yesterday in similar language.

Thanks, @MurphDogg.   It must’ve been a typo in the text my friend sent (head - hand).    Anyway, out for the rest of the season.

A decent to good, debut season. With all of these OFs, we are going to be looking at some 4 man rotations next year on the full season clubs.

Does anyone know how he broke his thumb? I’ve always been concerned by how much he crowds the plate….particularly leaning his head just outside the zone. Was his injury a HBP?

Maybe he didn't repay his loan shark, who then had Rocky break his thumb!

Broken thumb is better than a broken hand!

The last time he appeared to be hit by pitch in a game was August 21.  He sat out 2 days and played again on the 24th.  He managed a 1 for 3 with a walk and stolen base.     Maybe they didn't take x-rays until after the game on the 24th.
