I think you’re confusing dates. He pitched for the Astros AFTER the Tigers. Are you saying he wasn’t disgruntled generally?

Doesn’t matter, he didn’t have a problem accepting his WS ring. And it took him a year and a half before he said anything. What took him so long?

I don’t buy for a second he’s some hero. Bollocks. He was bitter they didn’t sign him and decided after the fact to come forward. He outed the Astros because he had an axe to grind.

So Baseball Reference is wrong?

A few words from Mills, per Roch:

“I just want to thank the fans of the Baltimore Orioles for embracing me over the course of my 18 years with the franchise. Birdland is a special place and I was privileged to call it my second home for so many years. I am truly grateful for your support and well wishes.”

Also, Roch reports that Buck Britton is expected to move up to Norfolk.

The pitcher who didn't say anything until he was playing for a division rival?

It's funny how Fiers wasn't a disgruntled former player when he was with the Tigers and only became one when he was with the Athletics.

I 100% think that Fiers outed the Astros to give his new team a better chance at winning the division.

So, here’s my mea culpa....after rereading this post I realize it was total  misinterpretation on my part. I won’t make excuses, but I have been pulling 14 hour days during ACL.

For some reason, I had thought you were promoting the idea Fiers was someone to be lauded.

Anyway, my bad and carry on, sir.

New pitching coach for Aberdeen Ironbirds - Forest Herrman is coming over from the Reds.

Thanks for posting. Hermann is a guy who has been tied in with Premier Pitching and Performance, where John Means made great strides.

Per Roch:

Former Triple-A Norfolk manager Gary Kendall has accepted a job to manage Single-A Palm Beach in the Cardinals’ system. He received a two-year contract.

The Phillies and Nationals also wanted to hire Kendall, who spent more than 20 years in the Orioles organization. Kendall set the Double-A Bowie record with 570 wins and led them to three postseason appearances, including the Eastern League championship in 2015.

Glad to see Kendall landing with a quality organization, even though at a lower rung on the ladder.

I knew it would not take Gary long to get a job. He's a great manager and talent evaluator.

Yeah, I was a little disappointed that they dumped him.   Buck Britton is a good young manager but there was plenty of room for both.   Hope it works out for all concerned.
