Don’t we always talk about convincing reclamation projects to sign here for cheap?  Didn’t we just do that. I get it, he’s not everyone’s pet reclamation project. 

Well, okay.  I hope he can reclaim something close to that .692 OPS he's been carrying since 2017.  Yes, I know one of those seasons was a short year...man, that would have been the year he busted out if they played all the games, I bet!

It is too bad that Fernando Abad became a free agent last month.  The one upside would've been if he could've had his locker next to Roughned.  Then the O's would've officially had Abad Odor in one corner of the locker room.

He’s just biding his time and making adjustments.  He will be back to where he was 7 years ago before you know it!

Its not like he has been playing in good parks for lefties to hit in or anything.

So were you up in arms when we gave Kohl Stewart or Maikel Franco cheap deals?  They actually cost more than Odor. How can anyone be upset over a league min deal?  Like I’m pretty sure I’d we cut him we don’t even have to pay out the remaining league min deal. 
 

This is the definition of a low risk signing at an area of need.

Oh trust me..there’s a bad odor in that locker room…because this team is going to stink.

But that’s ok…because every one of our prospects is going to hit And we will be able to trade depth for pitching and all will be good.

So this is your off-season agenda?  Every move and non move you criticize?  I think you did like the Cionel Perez claim.

I think we should avoid hyperbole here.   Sure, it is possible that Odor will have a rebound year that is better than his last several.   For that reason, it’s possible that in hindsight we’ll say that this move wasn’t a waste of time.   But the odds are against Odor being anything better than he’s been the last five years.   There’s a high probability that he won’t significantly improve the team.   I’d be happy to be wrong about that.

I criticize stupid…this is stupid and again, it’s not just stupid because of the signing.  It goes beyond the player and the signing.

When he does something smart, I will praise that.

Judge the move, not the result.

The move, when it is being made (ie now) is poor on many different levels.  
 

If he ends up with a 750 OPS and 25 homers, I will have been a poor move that worked out.  That can happen but it doesn’t change what it was at the time of the move.

I don’t know if I’d say it’s a “poor” move.   It’s certainly an uninspiring one.  If that’s the most significant move we make this offseason, I’d certainly call the offseason a poor one.
