If anything I’d really like to see a return to that ultra patient plate approach they had a few weeks ago. Drive up these lefty starters pitch counts and get to the Mets bullpen.
Seems like they’ve strayed from that a little bit.
We have SP options in Povich, McDermott, and Young. It’s just that we’ve had to tap into them a little sooner than we probably wanted to because of the injuries.
Thanks for sharing.
It seems pretty much on par with most of the rerank mid season lists. Maybe not a complete overhaul. The good news is that Holliday, Wood, and Caminero, will graduate soon, so Basallo, and Mayo, would tick up 3 spots.
Basallo still has a month to go on a heater and take the #1 overall spot IMO.
Although most of the other stats were awful, Selby did notch 30 Ks in 24 innings for the Pirates in 2023 and we have been short on strike 'em-out relievers.
I don't know how many other options they have.
But look at him compared to Kimbrel. We've probably given that guy more chances than necessary. He'll probably get more chances as the season goes along. And Holmes is only 31, he should still be in his prime...it wasn't long ago that I saw someone on here refer to him as the right handed version of Zack Britton.
I bet they're going to keep trotting him out there to see if they can get him back to form. He's really dominant when he's on.
That said, I hope he keeps blowing saves like he did tonight.
