Teams want Daniel Cabrera

Some teams including the Pirates would want to get Daniel Cabrera, since we non-tendered him. One client offered Cabrera a multi year deal! :eektf:

It is hard to imagine DCab signing with an NL team, as he is 14 for 14 at the plate. 14 for 14 strikeouts. ;)

I am sure some teams want Fahey too...does not mean that they are good players.

I have always felt that part of Cabreras problem is that we all wanted him to be a #1 or #2 when the reality is he is at most a #3 and probably a #4. He is a horrible 1 or 2 a below average 3 and a fairly decent 4. He eats innings and gives you several good starts a year with some crappy starts mixed in. I think that as long as Cabrera's monetary expectations do not over state his actual value we should have kept him until we had better alternatives which as we sit here today we do not have. Maybe that will be different when spring training opens but as we sit here today, I think we are worse off without him.

Is this really such a surprise when pitching is so scarce? He's still young, cheap and has the potential to be a productive back end SP. Some team may even try to experiment with him in the pen. Don't know why the Orioles (worse pitching staff in history) are above this. I guess we shall see soon enough just how easily replaceable he is.
