Should Maddon get the exit after another bad year, I wonder if Elias would consider him if he moves on from Hyde.

For emulating the Rays template, hiring Joe Maddon seems like it might be pretty high on the scale.

Would also clear the way for Ohtani to hit, pitch and manage!
