The Astros today became the first team ever to toss two immaculate innings in the same game.   (An immaculate inning is 3 strikeouts on 9 total pitches).

Starter Luis Garcia did it in the 2nd, and reliever Phil Maton did it in the 7th.   In both cases, it was the same 3 Ranger batters:  Nate Lowe, Ezequiel Duran, and Brad Miller.

There have been a total of 106 immaculate innings in MLB history.
