Or a Joe Saunders type? It can't derail the rebuild, but reinforcing this club could be the right move, especially if some more callups happen (Westburg, Vavra, etc). The O's can hang this year. A chance to make the playoffs shouldn't be ignored. This should be the target - as discussed in a couple other threads this can also be accomplished cheaply prospects-wise by eating a salary. Which should be easy to do given the current payroll.
Hank Scorpio
It’s surreal to me that we are even contemplating this after expectations going into 2022. Surreal and AWESOME… I think if Rodriguez was up and pitching well I’d be a little more bullish. Spenser Watkins prob isn’t going to continue to be someone other than Spenser Watkins and I’d further suggest that Kremer is still a bit of a question mark too. The bullpen has been nails, can that continue? It is super encouraging to see these guys gut out wins. It’s an interesting conversation. Will Elias do the pragmatic thing and deal Mancini and Santander, or will he hold onto them to maintain the mojo? I’m sure Hyde prefers he not break up the band @ the moment. But until they’re out of the basement in the division, their chances are probably not great. I would look to deal Mancini, Santander and I would listen on Mullins as well. sportsfan8703
Jose Quintana is a guy we should target.

Just asking, since the price for a comparable 2022 deal might be DL Hall. Now if you could package Santander/Tate/Lopez, that's an entirely different story.
Just Regular
I'd buy the Mychal Givens type before the Jose Quintana type. My October bulk pitchers are Tyler Wells, DL Hall and Grayson Rodriguez. I'll risk doubling Jorge Lopez's workload for a week. I like that we are streaming the world's Bruce Zimmermann's for 60 pitch chunks if we're really playing hard. drdelaware
I’d stand pat and just wait for talent to come up from AAA. I don’t think Mancini or Santander will bring much in return. We are starting to see some signs of life at the big league level so I’d prefer not to see the rug pulled out from under the team unless they start dropping a ton of games in a row. In no way shape or form would I trade Mullins or Hays without a blow away offer.
mrbig1
We should wait till the off season to make a move. Let these kids grow together.
connja
The nice part about this winning streak is I think it increases the price we would require to move our guys. If we were 10 games under, we might take a bag of balls for a couple months of Mancini. But given our current state, someone gonna have to give up some goods for us to make moves. We're not going to just give away our guys that have gotten us here.
oriolefan1035
Bump. Folks wanted to see this 10 game NYY/TB stretch. 4-4 on that run now. Orioles can hang with the big boys!
RVAOsFan
Man, winning sure is fun after the past few years. I don’t want to set back the rebuild process by giving up any major pieces of the future right now. However, if a solid starter with control can be obtained without giving up a top prospect I would be interested. The popular thought is move Mancini to make room for Stowers. What could we get back with Stowers as the headliner in a trade? I am starting think a competitive season / playoff push might be more valuable to this organizations future than a couple lottery tickets for Mancini. You'd actually be moving Santander to make room for Stowers. We're locked into being buyers now. However, I think it's possible to trade Mancini and Santander and still be buyers. Can always flip a player or two acquired for Mancini/Santander to a team selling to land pieces (pitchers) that can help now.

I think moving Mancini accomplishes the same thing as Santander as far as making room for Stowers. Santander can move into the DH / 1b role and has future years of control. Maybe it’s just me but the thought of moving Mancini AND Santander right now and saying we are still buyers just doesn’t add up. That is two big pieces of our lineup. I wouldn't screw around with this team right now, other than through MiL promotions, unless you got something great back or could pick up a Lyles-type starter cheap. Let's give this group a chance,
