Eflin from TB and Fedde from CWS are both options if we don't go the rental route. Fedde is sort of growing on me. He made a definite change to get these results. He ditched the Curveball for the Sweeper. He's also healthy. It's just what would the cost be? -

Moving Mountcastle in a deal with a “contending” team could be a creative way to improve the pitching without giving up one of the big 4 and getting Mayo on the 26 man. I think that might be a move that happens in the off-season if it were to happen though. For all Mounty’s flaws, he still has a career ~.850 OPS vs lefties (pretty much in line with his splits this year) and I think it would be unrealistic to bank on that type of production from Mayo this year despite all the talent he possesses. -

This is exactly correct, and is arguably a flaw. The whole point of a deep farm is having lots of items to deal. It’s not going to take you very far to tell a team,”you can have anyone except the guys you really want.” Thats why I doubt ME will make a significant acquisition. He doesn’t want to trade the big three. That’s not necessarily bad, but a lot hangs on what he can find on the clearance shelves. I don’t want Luzardo at this price, and even if we got him, it would be foolish to expect him to get both get the season and produce effectively. -
I did. The Os can outbid any team for whoever they want if the player is available and they choose to. -

No I don’t need to read it to answer your question. If Detroit sold Skubal, the Os 100% could get him and they would definitely be a team the Tigers call. Now maybe Detroit won’t sell him…which makes no sense but still, that may be their choice. -
