I get that and would like it too, but Tony’s time is not infinite.  I’m retiring from my job next week, maybe I’ll do a podcast!  😂

if you did a podcast on the O's Gnats drama i'd probably sit through it no matter how many ads played.

You should!  You’d be great at it.  There aren’t that many good baseball podcasts out there.  In the DC market, Al Galdi used to have a radio show on Saturdays that talked Orioles/Nats.  It was excellent.  He now does a Nats podcast with Mark Zuckerman (the Roch of the Nats).  It’s daily, which for me is too much.  But a weekly podcast that has good guests would be awesome.

I liked Galdi’s show (Chin Music) and was disappointed when WTEM took it off the air.  The format was usually 30 minutes of Nats, 15 minutes of Orioles, 10 minutes MLB generally and 5 minutes of listener questions.  Obviously I would have preferred more Orioles coverage but it’s the DC market so I was glad to get any O’s talk at all.   And Galdi isn’t afraid of advanced metrics and would work it into his commentary.

Congrats on the retirement. Really hope you do the podcast. I'd support it.

@Tony-OH - Not sure how I missed this post until this morning.  I've been an O's fan since moving to the area in 1987.  Ok, truth be told since the 1989 Why Not season.  I didn't get into the minor league/org aspect until the "Cavalry" and the first coming of Wieters in 2009 thru Dilly and Gausman's donuts, the Bedard fleecing, and the last big thing of Manny.  That's around when I started dabbling in the OH.

I've been following from afar, lurking, and wandering the interwebs on my own for years.  But then one day this off season, I got the itch to dig in a bit more.  And here I am hanging out with other addictive over-the-top baseball fiends...  :D I recall some of the 'downer' comments about the org in general recently and I wasn't sure how long this ride would last for me.  But never saw a change in quality about how you analyzed the players themselves.

You've built a place to have a legit conversation about the team and game we love!  Your analysis of the players marries the data and visuals from an experienced eye.  And the forum members add depth/breadth.

Thanks for hosting this party!  And thanks to the community for being the party!

I haven't posted in a very long time. But I've been on this site, in one way or another, since 1997 when I got back from my last overseas deployment. I'm really happy to hear that you have taken a new attitude and have decided to re-engage with the team and this site. You have done something really magnificent here with OH. We all respect you enormously and I can honestly say that what you do with this site makes my day-to-day enjoyment of the Orioles and the sport of baseball tremendously better. I think you should be proud of what you have done.

Thanks for always being there. Keep up the good work.

Just dropping in to say I appreciate all Tony has done here. This place is awesome and so well run. I’m also a big Georgetown basketball fan and frequent the HoyaTalk forum and the difference in quality is night and day. Probably helps that the Orioles are finally on the upswing while Georgetown basketball is currently in the fiery pits of hell. So people are friendlier here lol.

Being an Orioles fan is in my DNA.

My favorite part of a happy-to-see post.     Baseball is just here to be enjoyed, and glad that aspect overriding the grind you've been through making and keeping this place for all of us.

Here is way better than rec.sport.baseball.orioles

Several community members have made all the best points...I'll just add as the tide keeps on rising I hope as a fandom more ballpark and/or watch party type gatherings happen.

Tony, you know how I feel about this place that you’ve created. I’ve been here with you since 1997. That is about half my life, and yours. We’ve all been through a lot over the years, with the Orioles, and in life. Those things are often intertwined for the members of this community. The OH is important to us, and I’m glad you have decided to stay. It will continue to be a better place with you, than without. Weams is smiling up there.
