Lyles, Bradish, and Kremer. 2 CG and one could have been. As amazing as it is to see these guys succeed like this, we could've had 3 CG in a row, from what I can tell that would've been the first time a team has done this since 2010, and it would've been the 2022 Orioles! I don't think any one of us here would have even entertained this thought ever in the past 10 years... what a team this has become! Lets get another one tomorrow!

I don’t want to start a new thread on this, but the strike zone in the Bradish-Verlander game was ridiculously large.  Per Umpire Scorecards, it was the third-worst game of the entire year for strike zone accuracy, and of 37 true balls, 12 of them were called strikes.  It was on all sides of the strike zone, too — high, low, inside, outside.   I noticed it more when Verlander was pitching, but it worked both ways.

It seems the veteran Boomer umps are the worst, oddly enough.

Studies have shown that younger umps are best at calling balls and strikes.  Sharper eyes and better concentration, I guess.

Lyles and Bradish both had nothing their next time out. The other team gets paid too though.

I think both pitchers visibly didn’t have good stuff.  Hopefully Kremer won’t be a similar story.
