UPDATE:  MLB has cancelled the postseason Korea tour due to "contractual disputes with the promotor".

So Anthony Santander, Jorge Mateo, and other major leaguers will not be playing games in Korea in November.

Wow that pretty wild. Don’t expect a contractual dispute after all this planning.

A few recent changes:

• Added date when players on 60 day IL must be added back to 40 man roster
• Players Choice Awards show bumped from today until tomorrow
• Anthony Santander to play in WBC

So Nov. 12 is the first day FA’s can be signed.   Any guesses on the date the O’s sign their first FA to a major league deal?   Last year they signed Odor on Nov. 30 - I believe that’s the earliest major league signing of the Elias era.

I would predict nothing "major" until after the Winter Meetings, which are Dec. 7.

The first big decision we'll see is whether they decline or pick up Lyles option, which must be decided by Thursday.

I would imagine though they have already made that determination, and would announce it before then.  If they aren't picking it up, I'd imagine out of courtesy they'd let him know ASAP.

 So MLBTraderumors says the non-tender date for arbitration eligible players is Nov 20, not Dec 2 which was what my web searches yielded around a month ago.  They are a pretty reliable site.  I'll do a little googling later today when I get a chance, to try to confirm, and will change that if necessary.

Maybe they opted to keep Mateo off the Gold Glove so he could win the Platinum Glove.

Is November 15th the same day for setting the 38 man AAA roster?    I was looking but can't find that date if different...  This may be where the Orioles can find some depth to add to the farm system below AAA?  

What about the Minor League Rule 5 Draft?
While the Major League Rule 5 Draft captures the majority of the headlines, the draft also has a Minor League portion that allows teams to select minor league prospects from other teams and add them to their farm system.
In the MiLB phase, any player who meets the same eligibility requirements of the MLB Rule 5 Draft who is not added to the organization's 38-man Triple-A roster can be selected by another team. Players taken in the MiLB phase do not need to be added to the 40-Man or active roster and can be assigned to any level of their new team's Minor League system.

Thanks for the info!   I really don't know much at all about the minor league Rule 5 draft.   Each year I read the names of guys we gain or lose, but beyond that I have never followed it, or tried to speculate who would be eligible or anything.   And no, I don't know the deadline dates for that, though it would make sense that they are the samea s for the ML Rule 5, since the drafts are conducted the same day.
