If they truly did offer this deal and Correa turned it down, they better not "sweeten" it.   Seven years is way too long as it is.

ESPN report has some details that make sense for a boom-bust player.    Says incentives can take it to mid-30's, and he has an opt-out after Year 1.    TEX probably will only incur "just" the $25mm cost if things run bad.

Based on the current market I think he ends up signing for somewhere around 4 years 125 million. I doubt anyone gives him six.
