Look, I don't want to insult you or anybody else, but arguing that a 55 win team is the same as a 95 win team is moronic beyond belief. It's just that simple. -
So everything is great as long as we just make the playoffs? At what point is expecting to win a playoff game acceptable? Isn’t the goal to win a WS or is it to win more than 80 games? If we’re just going to keep failing when it really matters in the playoffs then 55 wins or 95 wins doesn’t make a difference in the grand scheme of things. In fact, you could argue 55 is better for the long term. -

Good point. I long for the days of 55 wins when we didn't have to worry about postseasons and such.

Look up Alex Rodriguez's first and second year stats and then look up Mike Trout's first year stats. Not everyone produces right away. And sometimes those that do can come back down to earth -- Corbin Carroll being a case in point. -
To be fair.. win in the regular season would be more appropriate.

I was wondering how prevalent the concern was for the hitting approach the guys are taking. Rutschman looks like he’s hitting a wedge into 17th at tpc. Tyson would be proud of his uppercut. And the home run or bust mentality is annoying. I think this is part of what did the 2014 group in. I agree that there needs to be an adjustment in how the orioles develop their hitters. With guys throwing in average mid to upper 90s with nasty breaking stuff contact is the most important thing. When you try to hit a 350 yard drive every time you’re gonna swing and miss a lot. and Hyde is a tough one. Dude put up with and went through a lot during the doldrums. I think more so the hitting coaches need to be reevaluated.
