Current stat line won't get us in playoffs

I think Mountcastle and Henderson are big keys to how June will go.   They’ve been our two biggest disappointments so far.  But both are capable of exploding.  Adley has been very steady but I have always had a feeling that he has another gear we haven’t seen yet.  Not a ton of extra base hits from him this year.

Urías is a possible dark horse. Maybe with all the extra rest days this month, Adley can provide more boom. 3 of his 4 hits yesterday were infield hits--Wieters might have beaten out only one of them.

I won't argue with any of that.  However, if we don't get our middle relief together I think we are in big trouble.  I think our starting rotation is a strength.

I think our rotation has a chance of becoming a strength. Still too many unprovens.

But they’re trending in the right direction.

I agree middle relief could be an issue.

Mountcastle's lack of productive at bats is killing the offense. This isn't new.He disappeared for a good portion of last summer. His numbers have declined now for 3 years. Not a SSS.Yet,day in and day out he is placed in the heart of the order. It's been long enough,he needs to sit at least against righties. He has been afforded plenty of time to adjust, but it's the same thing over and over again.Insanity.

The way it looks currently the Orioles will have to be better than at least one of NYY/TOR to make the playoffs. For the time being at I’m going with the West getting a WC. Leaves 2 spots.

Can’t count Seattle out either but I think it’s doubtful that the West gets 2 WC teams. Nobody from Central….

Our SP will need to continue to stabilize. I think they will be solid this month. I expect the pen to be better this month not because I think they are overworked but because they are due to pick it up and the days off will allow the big boys to throw a higher % of games. I am concerned about the lineup without Mullins. I would take 4.5 rpg without him to be honest.

Colton will be up soon.

    • I have two tickets to Game 1 of the WC which I cannot use due to work travel.  Section 352, row 4, seats 9 & 10.  Asking $70 total for the two.  Paid $205 to the Orioles as a season plan member.   PM me if interested.  Paypal preferred.
    • Can't make game 1. I'll be at game 2...last time I was at a playoff game at Camden, we beat Scherzer and the Tigers.
    • He should be taking fly balls all winter.
    • That was a lot of fun. Felt like there are certain elite seasons that had to be part of the team, and then tried to build from there.  Outfield depth is a little shaky, as is the rotation — though the latter is probably mostly unavoidable. The lineup would rake and the bullpen would shove, so pretty happy with this combination.   C 2022 Adley Rutschman (5.4 rWAR) 1B: 1998 Rafael Palmeiro (6.3) 2B: 2005 Brian Roberts (7.3) 3B: 2015 Manny Machado (7.5) SS: 2024 Gunnar Henderson (8.9) LF: 1999 Brady Anderson (5.9) CF: 2021 Cedric Mullins (5.9) RF: 2008 Nick Markakis (7.4) DH: 2013 Chris Davis (7.1) Bench: 2003 Melvin Mora (4.7) Bench: 2006 Miguel Tejada (4.5) Bench: 2011 Matt Wieters (5.2) Bench: 2001 Jeff Conine (2.9)   SP: 2000 Mike Mussina (5.7) SP: 2007 Erik Bedard (5.7) SP: 2019 John Means (4.4) SP: 2002 Rodrigo Lopez (3.7) SP: 2010 Jeremy Guthrie (4.5) RP: 2016 Zach Britton (4.1) RP: 2023 Felix Bautista (3.0) RP: 2004 B.J. • Gray started off well  but then ran out of steam a bit. He's not getting any younger. I was interested in him last year but I think the Cardinals overpaid and his contract only gets worse.
    • A bit. Nothing life changing, but the format seems…Cleaner.
