If that is (or could be the plan) that would make for a very full AAA catcher pool.  Bemboom, Handley, Godoy, & Viloria. 

With that being said they can easily drop one of these 'lucky' chaps onto the Taxi Squad or Developmental List... OR:

A) One of the catchers is going to be included in a trade this week

B) One will be promoted to O's when the roster expands to 28

C) One will be transitioned to develop as a 1B like Kjerstad, Mayo, and further thin the 1B AB's for Diaz and Josh (Welcome back from the DFA since no one else wanted him cause he isn't hitting like he did the first 6 weeks) Lester

D) One will be sent to accompany Glendinning to Australia this winter... damn.. there I go again looking too far in advance

E) One will be kept for pitching depth in case of the Tides being blown out in games in the 2nd half as they try to rehab the O's pitching

Question for the board.  I have read various messages/posts here and other places that the International League and the Pacific Coast League hitting/pitching statistics are not created 'equal'.  Outside of the 20 teams in IL and 10 teams in PCL... what are the reasons/opinions that the stats appear to be better for hitters in the PCL and better for pitchers in the IL?  

I saw the post below on X (twitter) that didn't seem to make sense to me.  He does lead the IL for 'qualified catchers' but then sorting to stats while just catching he drops to 2nd.  But when I look at the PCL, every qualified 'catcher' (there are 6) has stats higher than the IL.  

Handley isn't going anywhere unless there is a 'long term injury' this year.  He is catching 62% of the AAA games.  He has the most PA's while catching in the IL this year and his numbers are trending in the right direction in all categories... 

This has been a really 'boring' year for the Catcher movement in the O's this year as there have been no major injuries (Basallo's arm is acknowledged but didn't impact where he started) so far to cause volatility But something has got to happen come July 31st with Perez/Banuelos to allow movement between AAA/AA/A+.  If Willems keeps hitting and he has the stats to move up?  Who moves up/down to make room for him?

Before even getting into ballpark dimensions and quality of talent, PCL teams often play at altitude (Reno, Vegas, Salt Lake, El Paso, Albuquerque) and several others are in Texas (Houston, Round Rock) which makes the ball fly.
