32 AB is not enough to say that a player's offensive production is costing us runs.

Anyone pointing to a 32 AB sample size spread out over the entire season as proof that a player isn't good or isn't worthy of more at bats, is clearly trolling.  I wouldn't respond.

Has ortiz hit well in his ABs?

Let's just send back to AAA every prospect who goes 0-1 in their first at bat as clearly they aren't going to be able to replace a guy with a .620 OPS and .264 OBP (Mateo) or .668 OPS and .286 OBP (Frazier).  Ortiz has a total of 32 at bats.  That's about a 10 game sample for Mateo or Frazier.  How about letting him have a few more chances before we throw the baby out with the bathwater, huh?  So far we've given 233 at bats to Frazier and 205 at bats to Mateo.  They have shown that they pretty much suck this year, to varying degrees.  Ortiz deserves at least a a 1/3rd as many at bats before we judge what kind of a hitter he's going to be.
