Still boggles my mind that after that series we're done with NYY for the rest of the year. Should have put more in division games toward the latter part of the season (I know we do finish with some).

I think it's probably really hard to juggle the schedule so that every team can get that.

Seems like a pretty mammoth undertaking.

I'm just glad that it isn't 19 games each anymore.

If the Yankees and Orioles split the first two games of the series, this game would be for the season series and the tiebreaker in case the teams finish the season with the same record. Big game, potentially.

Of course if they were going to have us on SNB they had to make sure the Yankees were on. Feels like there aren’t many on that telecast that don’t involve Sox, Mets, Ya is, or Dodgers.

Yep, if that was the case that single game would be worth THREE games in the standings in relation to the Yankees.

Let's say we are 4 games ahead of them after splitting the first two games.

• If we win we are 5 games ahead of them WITH the tiebreak so they would have to play 6 games better than us the rest of the way to pass us for a wild card spot, wildcard seed, or division.
• If we lose we are 3 games ahead of them and they would have the tiebreak so they would have to play 3 games better than us the rest of the way to pass us for a wildcard spot, wildcard seed, or division.

I'm still annoyed a little that the only time the orioles ever get on these big national games is when they play the Yankees.

If the Orioles win the World Series, the headline on ESPN dot com would be about what this means for the Yankees and Red Sox heading into the 2024 season.
