Kevin Brown on the radio

I don't have MASN, but have noticed Kevin Brown doing radio broadcasts the past few weeks. Is he not the lead TV announcer anymore?  Does he want a change of pace?

Just standard swapping guys around. They do it every year, so nothing to worry about.

It's a shame though. Nothing against Geoff Arnold but Kevin Brown has developed into one of my favorite play by play guys thoughout sports.

This. It's happened every year since they went with this new group of game announcers on TV and radio.

I miss Gary Thorne.

Haven't missed him at all.  Arnold isn't great, but at least Arnold isn't trying to crown the "new King Felix" or trying to inject pop culture references at every given opportunity.

Kevin and Geoff are both good listen’s. I want to say Brown has never been the play by play while the O’s are in Canada. Could be wrong.

I've noticed that Gary Thorne talked about our assistant coaches a lot more.  I feel like I always knew who we had each game.  It's not a big deal, but that's something that a pro like Thorne just used to slip in.

I like KB. More importantly I like the rapport he's developed with McDonald and Palmer. Also like the fact that he's genuine (for better or worse).

There’s never anyone in the booth who might dare question what Ben or Jim are saying.   That’s why the Mets (I’m not a fan) with Ron Darling, Keith Hernandez and pbp Cohen are the best listen.   Cohen isn’t a “yes man, kiss up” and sometimes the former players respectfully disagree.

I like KB, but I would like him even more if we were only 75% of himself. He needs a few more years of seasoning.

KB isn't perfect, but I'll take him all day long over Arnold.
