Cowser did nothing when he came up to MLB and he hasn't been good since he got sent back down.  Fangraphs and a couple others have been critical of him for awhile now.  Not saying he won't figure it out but it's silly to think he's a lock for taking over for Anthony Santander to start next season.

McKenna has a .958 OPS in 3 seasons at AAA.

I watch lots of baseball talk shows and it is great to be the team that is playing way ABOVE expectation than like San Diego playing way BELOW.   Still doesnt make figuring out how we are doing it any easier.  Seems to be a case of the sum of our parts being better.  We have somewhat a secret sauce it seems.

Most national evaluations cant really figure it out.  One stressed we were not really GREAT at anything except maybe Bautista.

The game may have changed in a way that you no longer need expensive FAs to win. A young talented nucleus, a few key veteran pieces, and good managing may now beat most expensive rosters. Look around the league. It's not just the Orioles. The three top records in the AL are all in the bottom half of payroll. Same with the NL Central leader.
