TLDR: Catchers used to get an advantage in called strikes when batting but no longer do.

Do robo umps dream of electric sheep? I genuinely enjoy the fuzziness of umpires…that some are bad, others good. That the strike zone gets wider in the ninth inning of a perfect game or the 18th inning after a rain delay. We lose just as much as we gain from making up a few percentage points toward some ideal of perfection.
