Doesn't sound like a guy we'd trade two of our best prospects for when you put it that way.

You can always paint a narrative in any way you want to fit your argument.

He has pluses and minuses. If it were all pluses, we wouldn’t be talking about getting him for the packages we have talked about.

Yeah that's all I was basically saying. I did vote yes on the Ortiz/Cowser poll. Though it's far from a confident yes. The question I have is, is there a logical fix for Cease or is his arm about to blow up? Loss of both command and velocity isn't a great sign.

This guy has gotten a few things right in the past, although I’d caveat to take with a major grain of salt.

No last name, really?  We’re supposed to believe “Steve?”   Well, I guess we’ll see.

Are you guys going to be a championship caliber team in this decade?  😁😂

The O’s have shown that a team can go pretty far up the spectrum in 5 years.

I think seeing Ortiz as a utility player is quite pessimistic, in any event.

Well he has never been a high command and control guy.

His velo is still excellent.

End of the day, all of this is questionable because of the org he is coming from. Think of the Os pre Elias. That’s what the WS are.

I was saying in the other thread, if they sign Uwasawa, it might be bc Dean Kremer will be part of a trade. In order to sure up their rotation with a safe controllable options, the White Sox might request a pitcher like Kremer

Ortiz, one of Westburg/Kjerstad/Cowser, & Kremer for Cease probably gets it done

Ortiz, Kjerstad and Kremer for Cease, probably??? Come on man of course it gets it done. ( will Mike Elias)? only in PBradly board game

I pass, I think the same offer (maybe less) gets you Miller/Woo from the M's, and more control for your window.

It’s not news, it’s a rumor from a guy who broke the Lance Lynn trade.  Personally, I don’t buy much he says nowadays (hence the “major grain of salt” comment) but felt it was fun to share nonetheless.

I saw someone in that thread say he is legit but who knows.

I don’t care much about the blurb that he quoted. We have no idea what Ortiz will become since he hasn’t been given an opportunity.

it’s interesting he didn’t post any of this …

@Chicago White Sox “Everyday Big League Shortstop “

If the ceiling is everyday shortstop but second division regular that’s not super valuable given the very real fact he could bust altogether.  Again, I like him as a prospect, but I don’t think he’s anywhere close to a top 50 guy and more in the 80 to 100 range.  Just my opinion and apparently not a popular one here.

You don’t trade Kremer and Kjerstad isn’t a great idea if they are planning to move the guys like Hays and Santander before free agency
