The Cardinals and right-hander Kyle Gibson are in agreement on a deal, reports Bob Nightengale of USA Today. It’s one year plus a 2025 option, per Nightengale, though the financials aren’t yet publicly known. The righty is a client of Rowley Sports Management.

Gibby was a great locker guy and legit seemed like a really good person.  He had some great starts for us.  Wish him the best in St Louis.

1 year/$12m with a team option for 2025. I think it speaks well for the O's that they got him for $10m last year and he parlayed it into a nice pay bump after his season in Baltimore.

Given they're building a rotation basically from scratch (save Mikolas as maybe Matz though his season ended early and healthy is always a huge question with him). So they added Lynn and Gibson on short relatively low risk deals. I imagine Cardinals fans aren't exactly enthralled yet and will be demanding at least one big fish at the front of the rotation. 

I wish Gibson luck. I hope he does well. He seems like a good guy...but at this point the Orioles need to shoot higher so I'm kinda glad to see him go elsewhere.

Am I the only one concerned that when the offseason dust settles, we'll all feel like Kyle Gibson would have been the better option vs. whatever Elias does come up with??  As in, we'll end up with another Lyles type.....who was okay for us, but not what the collective "WE" wanted for Christmas.....
