OriolesMagic83
Totally unrelated to this thread, but about free agency: The Packers wined and dined Reggie White by taking him to Red Lobster. Watching Reggie White 30 for 30 on ESPN. Maybe the O's should try that.

Carl Pavano on the jumbotron as the opening day starter several years ago as the Orioles pitch to get him to sign. The good old days. Just Regular
Heyman just reported LAD dislikes Margot in the rumored Glasnow structure. I don't think you'd be wrong regarding him as "Darren O'Day" to Atlanta. He's a lock up I think the Rays now wish they didn't do. He reported LAD prefers Arozarena, and we'll see by Spring how far TB's "we can't afford these good players anymore" process goes. Cease report was they are waiting for the Yamamoto domino to fall. That one for me might be a double-edged sword because then perhaps you lose your Dodgers bidder. I assume LAD today the Shohei press conference is the focus. Outfielders, Max Kepler was a new-ish name to get individual discussion. I figure that one is one of the ripples in the pond from their Carlos Correa win. He's Santander-Hays-ish enough for other Clubs talking with Elias to say negotiating stuff like Minnesota is basically giving Max Kepler at 1/10 away. Good not great Bats on the corners making decent money, Hunter Renfroe was one of the August waivers guys.
DenaOsHon
I never believe anything Heyman puts out there. Him and Morosi are the worst. Does anyone else feel the same?

Heyman is ridiculous, and bad, but he's kind of a hot stove mainstay and it kind of wouldn't be as fun without him IMO lol.

Glasnow and Arozarena in LAD would be a juggernaut. Chatter about Kershaw targeting a second half return too. I think that probably pulls LAD out of the Yamamota bidding. Who's more disruptive to us of the MIN tradables: Kepler or Polanco? They counter our Hays/Urias/et al packages.
NCRaven
From MLB Traderumors: Speier reports that the Sox approached the Mariners about their cadre of controllable starting pitchers but were generally rebuffed. Whether that was due to the quality of their offer (or lack thereof), or simply due to the Mariners being unwilling to move someone from the George Kirby, Logan Gilbert, Bryce Miller, Bryan Woo quartet isn’t clear. However, Mariners president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto suggested at last week’s Winter Meetings that a trade of one of their young big league starters doesn’t seem likely (link via Adam Jude of the Seattle Times). Dipoto acknowledged “constant” inquiries regarding his young rotation before casting doubt on whether he’d actually make a move involving anyone from the bunch. Apparently, Elias isn't the only GM hugging his prospects and young players.

Can_of_corn
Crazy that the Mariners aren't eager to trade away young, controllable, pitching. 2

Young, cheap, good pitching is just about the best asset a team can have. it can make up for a lot of other weaknesses, and also frees up cash for the team to address other needs. The O’s with Bradish, Rodriguez, Kremer, Wells and Hall aren’t in such bad shape themselves on that score.
