Yeah, I should have been more clear.  I certainly think there’s a chance that Urias starts the season as a starter.   I believe Ortiz will be traded.  I think he could go to Norfolk but I think that’s the least probable for him.  Traded, Oriole starter, Oriole bench, Norfolk.

I believe he will be traded as well. As much as I would like to see him get a crack at the utility role with us, I want him to be traded. Once he gets that utility "label", it becomes far more difficult to get a full-time gig. He's earned a shot to start.

It comes down to whether Ortiz can hit well enough to warrant being a starter.   If he can, he should be the shortstop IMO.

If he’s truly the plus plus defender I don’t care who was here first. It’s best for the team. And Gunnar was better at 3rd anyway IMO

Maybe, but I don’t think they move Henderson while they find out how Ortiz hits ML pitching.

It seems to me that if Ortiz makes the team — which is unclear — he probably wouldn’t be installed as a full time starter right away.  I think Hyde would try to get him in the lineup >50% of the time and move him around a bit.  Then eventually decide whether he’s a starter, a bench guy or a AAAA guy.  I’m not going to use too much brain power on this right now because one or more infielders, including Ortiz, couid be traded this offseason.

I still think he starts at short. Not sure about all the young guys being traded. I think it makes more sense to move the veterans considering how much Angelos appears to hate spending money.

Gunnar is better at 3rd than every player in baseball. Urias is still GG caliber even if he’s not as good as Gunnar.

That’s a joke.  There are several 3B who are better defensively than Gunnar.  Gunnar might become GG caliber if he played 3B all the time, but he doesn’t.
