A couple nuggets from Fangraphs' Effectively Wild season preview podcast:

At one point, there was an actual chain of events like:

-Troy Percival complained about technology.

-Buddy Carlyle was let go

-Buddy Carlyle was hired by Tampa

Reid Detmers, Griffin Canning and Patrick Sandoval may or may not feel super confident in their preparedness to compete in Baltimore in 24 days.

This isn't a new fact as the book was closed when they waived Giolito/Reynaldo, but worth recounting last summer Perry Minasian executed (perhaps at owner's directive) on trading two top prospects from a weak system for guys who were waived a month later in a temporary bid to keep it good for Shohei.

Please ask for a trade, Mike.     Dave and Bryce and Trea and Aaron and Zack surely want you.
