If Mounty is traded, I would have Santander playing a lot of 1B and Kjerstad playing RF.  Mullins brings back so little in a trade, I don't see the point of trading him

Santander at first and Kjerstad in right.

It's the right deal, be kinda dumb to turn down the right deal.

Passan on Sunday Night Baseball pregame speculated about ATL or NYM for Snell, being reactionary to recent Kodai Senga and Reynaldo Lopez injury news.

Even if that's fanciful, those teams may be more in on the Fedde type people last 2 days now.

Snell's 15K was the Rockies on the road, but also the 6 IP record.    I guess in the higher intensity Driveline era it is tougher to chase Roger Clemens or Kerry Wood at single game numbers starting with "2".

If you can get someone to give you something you want for Taillon then take that money and sign someone else you get some prospects and a pitcher similar to Taillon.  Maybe give 2 year deal to Severino for around 40 million so you get a player like Norby or Stowers plus Severino instead of just Taillon at about same cost.

I saw Brenton Doyle got pulled from the Rockies game earlier.  They’re saying no trade as of yet, but I’m assuming someone is deep in conversations with them.  He seems to tick a lot of boxes, a right handed centerfielder who is a plus defender, and has some pop and speed. Also doesn’t hit free agency til 2030. If it is the Orioles, what would you all be comfortable giving up for him?

I doubt that would be Orioles we want Someone that can hit a little lefties and be the short end platoon type guy not a starter type player.  I think Seattle would be the play there for some pitching.

I'd be very happy to add him.  Didn't think he'd be available.

      I think a lot of the problem is that the hitters trained on the ABS system are falling behind in the count because pitches that are outside the strike zone are being called strikes. Having a count go 1-1 instead of 2-0 is huge for a hitter.

      I've certainly seen a LOT of called strike threes taken on balls in the middle of the plate, which is perplexing.   Sure, you can be looking fastball and be frozen by a breaking ball, but with two strikes you just can't do it.   Once again this is just eye test, general impression, but it sure seems to happen to us too much lately.

      In the beginning of the year the team had the best hitting team in baseball but were never walking and near the bottom.  There was lots of complaining about how they don’t walk enough to be a better lineup.  The second half of the year they are near the top of the league in walks and there hitting has fallen off.  You would think with more walks and taking pitches they would be hitting better.  Are they walking to much and not being aggressive like they were earlier in the year?

      The capacity situation is affected by 3 trends, I believes:    -- newer stadiums being built tend to have fewer have fewer seats (and OPACY is now one of the 10 oldest ballparks in the major leagues)    -- stadiummodifications usually result in capacity going down:   for bigger playing field (like Baltimore), or for more club/luxury seating or entertainment areas replacing denser regular seating areas)    -- some teams just deciding never to sell some seats so I guess they no longer count in capacity (like that entire top deck in the outfield in Oakland).   I mean, I'm sure they could FIT way more than 25K humans comfortably in the Trop, they obviously have some seating areas they just bother to print tickets for and sell because they know they'll never sell them, so I guess that doesn't count in capacity.   Now at Oriole Park they only sell the LF upper deck seats these days when a big crowd is expected... but those seats still count towards capacity even in games where they choose not to make them available.
