Unfortunately Clarke Schmidt is starting rehab start tomorrow so he will be able to fill in for him shortly.  The Yankees had Rondon, Cortes, Stroman, Gil and Schmidt to start there season then Schmidt got hurt but they only needed 2 starts before Cole was back.  So they had the same 4 and Cole instead of Schmidt now they probably need just 2 spot starts and Schmidt can just take Gil’s spot.  They have only needed 7 starts not from those 6 and 4 of the 7 were double header games. If they don’t win division this year with his great their health has been pitching and ours and Rays has been decimated they might not win it for awhile.

The Astros sure didn’t help us any as the scored 0 runs the last two games (10 inning) off a Red Sox bullpen that had an ERA over 7 in the second half of the season coming into series.  Maybe they can’t hit bad bullpens so we might have a chance.

I’m not giving up on division but clearly they are favorites. 
 

Look who Orioles end with, Twins. Possible they stay in MIN for a week. Also the last thing you are going to do unless you need it is use your big guns last three games. Would think they want if possible Burnes, Elfin and Grod -yes I know being hopeful- going vs NYY. That would allow Burnes to pitch last day of season only if needed. Plus as I said may face MIN right after. 
 

A lot of stuff to happen but many possibilities.

Playoffs would start Tuesday October 1. In theory your Game 1-2-3 starters could pitch on normal rest if they go Thursday- Friday- Saturday end of year. Like I said though entirely possible playing Twins back to back.

Maybe they are also due for a downturn in general. Been hot for awhile. 11-3 last 14 including losing 2/3 to BOS.

Yankees up 5-0 with their schedule it is going to be hard to keep pace.  They have just 6 games with current playoff teams the rest of the way.  A three game series vs us and one vs the Royals.  I was hoping the Guardians would give them some trouble but their offense is awful right now.  If JRam and Naylor are not hitting they dont have much else at the bottom of the order to help out.  They have scored 3 runs or less in 10 of the last 14 and looks like it will be 11 out of 15 after today.

Yankees and Boston lost today. 

0.5 game back of the Yankees.  7.5 games in front of Boston.  I don't think they've gained a game on us in 2 weeks plus.

They have lost 4.5 games on us since the all star break but the way people talk they are breathing down our neck and going to pass us any day.

Yeah but their offense is so much better than the O's and their starting pitching is so much better and their just a better all around team....  Sometimes I think some of the posters here need to cheer for another team.

The Guardians have scored 17 runs in the last 7 games which is pretty bad then take into account 1 of those they scored 9 runs and if you go farther 6 of those runs game in the 12 th inning.  So they have 11 runs in the last 7 games 1st through 9th inning.  Could you imagine this board if our offense was doing that.
