Looks like he is under contract for 2025 as well.  Fills a hole in next years rotation as well.

18M dollars for a number 4. I hope they do better 1-3 in the offseason and he doesn't become our "Ace".

In this scenario, Rodríguez would become the “Ace” and Eflin number 2. If by some miracle they were to get Skubal, everyone moves down. I would love to see a Burnes, Skubal, Rodríguez, Eflin, Kremer rotation to finish the year.

Rodriguez is still young and figuring it out. I guess to me, just because you start on opening day, that doesn't exactly turn you into an Ace. I hope they get a legit upgrade to the rotation instead of a bunch of mid arms.

The Rays will receive three Minor Leaguers in return for Eflin, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand: Matthew Etzel, Jackson Baumeister, Mac Horvath

Interesting.

FWIW, he won 16 games last year...this year not good...but he's a veteran arm  and could turn it around with more offense behind him Maybe.

He hasn’t been as good as last year but I feel like you’re solely basing these thoughts on his win totals.

I realize wins mean less than ever..but 16 wins says he did something right...we didnt have anyone with 16 wins.

He pitched much better last year. He's been mediocre this year, we have mediocrity in spades. They need to do better.

I think this is a solid trade. We add a legit SP to a rotation that badly needs one for the stretch run as well as the playoffs. We get to hold on to our most prized prospects in the deal.

I can still see us adding another SP and RP.
