Isn’t this why drafting pitchers in large quantity is the best strategy?

Even if attrition claims a large majority, the remainder will be yours for six inexpensive years and we might not need this discussion about giving a 32-year-old guy $80 million and hoping he won’t break for three or four years.

I realize the Os are going to have fewer and higher draft picks, but it sure seems like a better strategy to load up on pitching and build a fancy altar to the baseball gods.

I'm not saying he would walk away, but that he will insist on max dollars even if he has to go year to year. It's what I would do before taking a redo of 3/$45 below the AAV of a QO.

I’m not sure either . But one thing I can be sure of , is that if we don’t pay , someone else will . It’s a pitcher’s market these days .

Anyone else excited that it's Zach Eflin day?  It's always a joy watching him pitch knowing he'll hardly walk anyone and go right after the batter.

If Eflin keeps pitching like this, he might get a $100 million deal.  If Eflin was a FA this year, I'm betting he would get close to it.  Seems like the top 3 would be Burnes, Snell and Japanese pitcher who I can't remember his name.  All 3 could get $200 million deals. Eflin would look like a bargain un comparison.  The last 5 years I've never guesses right once with how expensive starting pitching will be.  It even exceeds what I think is an overpay for pitchers.

I’m sure this question has been asked and answered a few times already, but is it safe to say yet that Eflin has been THE oily variety bohunk starting pitcher moved at the deadline? Is it even close?
