My lord what an embarrassing at bat by Mountcastle.

Cuas walks 3 batters and shows he cannot throw strikes at Ryan strikes out on all balls.

This just in... Water is wet.

    • Not sure why all the hate.  Adley had a bad back. This is the worst slump of his career.  Maybe some time off would be good for him.
    • Kjerstad played back to back today, and went 2-for-2 with a walk in three plate appearances. I would give him a grace if he left immediately to catch the team plane to Boston. The Ironbirds even pitched the De Leon-Forret tandem again to close out their year.     Twice in a week for those guys, Trace Bright pitched into the 7th, everybody's getting their end of year final exams/opportunities.
    • The Royals have completed 14 games in 14 days all against CLE-MIN-HOU like this, a testament to the rollercoaster of baseball: WWW-LLLLLLL-WWWW Bobby Witt heads to the Bronx for the next 3 games with his best chance to make some noise and shake up the AL MVP contest. Cubs avoid the sweep to keep the AL East at 0.5 games.
    • I think it's just trying to be predictive rather than a jinx.
    • He needs to catch up to the scouting report. Needs to start looking for pitches on the edge of the strike zone early and driving them. He's failing to adjust in my opinion. I also have serious concerns about his bat speed from the left side.
    • Norby did some of the damage to get his OPS up to .900. It is invigorating what being inked into the top of the lineup for a 100-loss team can do for a player.
    • Norby would be a very valuable member of the team right now. It’s difficult to say we should’ve kept him, when nobody knew that Urias would be injured, but I think it is quite accurate to say that the trade was bad because we gave up much and got little. Even when discussing potential, before Roger showed up and was horrible, it was still a bad trade because Rogers has been in decline and there was no logical reason to expect him to be anything other than mediocre. And if you’re willing to sacrifice defense for offense, as the Orioles obviously are with mayo, then any defensive shortcomings that Norby might have are irrelevant. edit: I am aware that the Orioles aren’t playing mayo in the field very much, so they are obviously concerned with his defense, but they aren’t so concerned with his defense that they are unwilling to play him anyway. they are just hoping he improves.
