FWIW, Rogers xwOBACON is almost exactly the same as Grayson’s, which is slightly worse than league average. He’s getting hammered tonight but that’s not usually the case, it’s more his lack of K’s and whiffs.

I’d really like to know what Elias saw in Roger’s aside from a small sample size of decent starts. Irvin did the same to start the season. Now look.

And we gave up 2 quality pieces to get him.

And I am not even saying they were a 100% part of the Os future?  But they 100% could have been packaged for another high prospect to get an actual elite pitcher.

Instead we have....junk.

He went for quantity over quality.  And that hardly ever works.

Teams were not real eager to trade the more premium guys.

Of the folks that were traded how many are clearly superior?  You want him to bring Flaherty back?

This is a good point. I think people just think we gave up too much given what we got back. Some reviews thought Norby was the best prospect traded.

It was a fair observation. If this is really what we will get from Rogers, I think I would rather still have Norby and Stowers and just insert Irvin back in the rotation.

Yes, I wanted Flaherty back, and I wonder if we could have gotten him for not much more than what we gave up for Rogers.

Rogers can’t get guys out. He doesn’t seem to have a put-out pitch at all.

Seriously did ME make any comments about specifically why he wanted Rogers?
Not being snarky really want to know.

Rogers can get guys out. I'm not a drama queen who is freaking out about a guy against one of the best contact hitting teams, pitching for the first time to a new catcher, and hasn't even had time with our own pitching coaches. So I'm not going to panic, but I'm a grown up, and I, like the rest of you, have not seen him pitch. The difference is, I'm not basing everything that has happened tonight on how he's going to be going forward.

Fedde? There were other options. Overpaying for a #5 at best just because of control isn’t great.

At some point the 40 man was going to be an issue. Had to move on from some guys.
