With final pick of our 2009 Mock Draft, the Pirates select freshman Mark Dwyer LHP from Clemson U. He is the 1st freshman of a 4 year school to be draft eligible in the history of the draft.

Though his command is inconsistent and his performance does not measure up to the stuff, his upside is intriguing. As is sits, he has 2 plus pitches, a mid 90 fastball and a good curve. If he can develop some sort of 3rd pitch he can be a very good major league starter. If not he could be a beast late inning guy.
