Masterson is the classic pitcher that is really hittable IF you make him throw you strikes. I agree that he must be very tough to pick up from either side of the plate.

Not an excuse, of course. Still, there aren't many starters out there with K/9 over 10.

Our first base situation is scary bad. I really hope Nolan gets straight and Pie gets healthy so we can see Nolan or Scott at first. Or a trade would work...

Instead of a trade or two, I will be disappointed if the FO just banks the season on productive returns by Roberts and Pie--and blames it on bad luck if things don't pick up and says, after all, it was a good enough year for developing our pitchers and AAA prospects....
