No chance it happens before Nishioka signs. It would surrender a ton of leverage. Of course, once Nishioka signs, the Twins lose a bit of leverage with a Hardy trade, but to a lesser degree.

And just who would you suggest we get? He is not "just" an upgrade over Izzy, he is the best upgrade over Izzy besides everyone except for maybe 3 or 4 players.

Good point. There does seem to be an awful lot of information out there for a trade involving AM.

He is playing both teams against each other. I wonder which team takes these players first or we have to improve our offer.

With the Twins pushing hard to re-sign Pavano, Hardy may very well be had for cheap (hence, Jacobsen +).

For those who want Hardy, root for the Twins to lock up not just Nioshoka, but Pavano too.

The Pavano dynamic plays into this as well. Hardy trade would free up space to sign Pavano, which is something they're really trying to do.
