You're probably right, but he did also have two previous DUIs with injuries. I'd be interested to see what he have received if he was a first time offender.

Yes, previous DUIs and he did kill three people. Not just Adenhart. Harsh penalty for a harsh crime.

Not sure what that even means. They have some of the toughest laws in the country against DUI offenders.

I agree to a certain extent but this guy basically committed a mass murder and paralyzed another. If you read up on him, you'll quickly realize that he had no business near a car, ever. Sex offenders should go to a nasty place in the prison system, and never see the light of day, agreed there.

So one injustice should justify another? As others have said, this guy killed 3 and paralyzed another...while having a history of similarly inspired feats of driving-ignorance. He got what he deserved.

But as you pointed out, many others (unfortunately) don't get what they deserve.

Not to take anything away from the severity of the crime, but i heard on the radio today that the one guy actually made a remarkable recovery and isn't paralyzed. They said he actually threw out a first pitch last season. Sorry I don't have a link, just what I heard today. Hopefully this was some justice to the families who lost thier loved ones.

Yes, he did recover and threw out a first pitch, and that is wonderful. However, the injury he suffered is fatal almost 100% of the time.

I couldn't disagree more. I doubt the fact that Adenhart was a baseball player affected the sentencing much at all. I'm not an advocate for child porn offenders or sexual predators, but this guy didn't "ruin lives," he ended them, thanks to his utter disregard for the laws regarding driving under the influence. If he was a first-time offender he wouldn't have gotten this harsh of a sentence, but this guy got penalized several times for his past behavior and went out and did it again, and now innocent people are dead because of it. The system did what it should do here, it's just too damned bad that the previous penalties weren't enough to get this guy to stop endangering other people's lives.
