SOPHOMORE (2012)

All-Ivy honorable mention starting pitcher ... led the team with 47 strikeouts, which ranked sixth in the Ivy League ... posted the team’s lowest ERA among starters in league play at 3.55 ... second-fewest walks per nine innings (1.66) among Ivy pitchers ... among the top 50 nationally in strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.7) and best in the conference ... pitched at least six innings in seven of his nine starts and made six quality starts ... fanned four in five frames at 13th-ranked LSU in his season debut ... picked up first win with seven-inning complete game at Sacramento State, striking out six without walking a batter in the 12-4 triumph ... in line for a win at UC Irvine, leaving after seven stanzas with a 4-3 lead having zero walks and a season-high seven strikeouts, only to see Anteaters rally in the ninth ... strong in first Ivy start at Cornell, surrendering just two runs on four hits and three walks with five whiffs in six innings, but suffered a 2-0 defeat ... came back next weekend with a complete-game, 6-3 win versus Penn, yielding two earned runs on six hits and two walks while matching his season high with seven strikeouts ... allowed three runs over seven innings a week later at Brown, but did not get a decision in the extra-inning loss ... sat down six batters in 6.1 frames against Yale to ear a 4-3 victory ... won crucial start at Harvard, scattering 12 hits over 6.2 innings while giving up just three runs with five more punchouts.

FRESHMAN (2011)

Twice named to the Ivy League Honor Roll for stellar performances in Ivy League starts ... held leadoff batters in an inning to a paltry .209 on-base percentage ... first collegiate outing was his only relief appearance of the season, three innings at UCF ... made first start two weeks later, striking out two in four frames versus Indiana ... picked up initial college victory with a strong six innings against UMBC, giving up two runs on seven hits without walking a batter and fanning two ... tossed two perfect innings in a scheduled shortened start to get the win in the home opener versus Siena as the Big Green offense scored 10 times in those first two stanzas ... stymied Princeton for six innings, yielding just one run on seven safeties while striking out a season-high five batters to improve to 3-0 on the season ... came just one out short of qualifying for the win against Brown, despite surrendering just two runs in 4.2 innings in an 11-4 triumph ... outdueled the Ivy League’s ERA leader by hurling shutout ball for 6.1 innings but did not get the decision, allowing just four singles, a walk and two hit batters, as Dartmouth finished a twinbill sweep of Harvard at home with a 6-0 blanking of the Crimson ... given the ball to start the deciding game of the Ivy Championship Series.

HIGH SCHOOL

Selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 46th round of the MLB First-Year Player Draft (1,400th overall) ... lettered for two seasons at ThunderRidge for coach Joe White ... earned second-team all-league honors as a junior, then made the first team as a senior captain ... hurled 49 innings in his final year, going 4-4 with a 2.40 ERA and 91 strikeouts ... tossed four complete games, three of which were shutouts.

Pitching very well so far in Aberdeen. His most recent start was 7.1 innings with 6 hits allowed, 2 earned runs and 6 strikeouts and no walks. Brings his season line to 36.1 innings of 2.75 ERA ball having allowed 29 hits 25 Ks and just 2 BBs.

Interesting player at his size and being a lefty. Granted, he's a bit old for low A ball, but still.

He is 21 right? Just drafted this June. Age seems ok for these results to me.
