MacPhail, really? You're going out of your way to "humble" a great player coming off a great season? Does the guy know anything about clubhouse chemistry? This is pathetic. The Orioles would rather put a few million in Peter Angelos's pocket than treat their free agent acquisitions with respect. We're going to have to put some SERIOUS work into rebuilding our relationships with player agents after this. A dumb, lazy move IMO...

So you're upset because you think we probably paid too little? Interesting.

This is ridiculous.

MacPhail stated he wouldn't sign Vlad unless it was on the cheap. He didn't go out of his way to make him cheap. Vlad helped himself to make it cheap. And if Vlad is really that upset about a cheap deal, then he doesn't have to sign with the Orioles.

You'd have to think that there would be some incentives built into this contract as well.

In all fairness to Bowden, I was just looking at his twitter time line and it looks like he called Manny and Damon to Tampa Bay about 5-6 hours before it was officially announced.

Yeah it was Ed Price from AOL Fanhouse, not Bowden that first reported LaRoche and the Orioles were closing in on a 2 year deal on Dec 16th.

Bowden's been pretty much on for what he hears.
