Yea, then they go to their bench and bring out a right hander and LOOGYs generally are, well, suboptimal, against even average right handed hitters.

I don't like the strain it puts on the rest of the bullpen or how it shortens the bench if the bullpen is expanded for one.

If you got a team that is contending, and that has starters that you can rely on going deep into games, I can see the logic of having a specialist in the pen. The O's are not that team.

After going ahead 3-0, Lee has swung and fouled off two pitches out of the zone (one in on his hands, one pretty far outside).

Let's hope that he's simply taking hacks regardless of the situation, because it's spring training. Let's hope that his mentality is different when the games count ......... like DO NOT swing at a 3-0 pitch unless the pitch looks like it's a 78 MPH basketball right down the middle.
