To me, Darren has looked fantastic most of the time this year.   His big problem is that 3 of the 12 hits he’s allowed have been homers, one of which was a 3-run job.   That’s 5 of the 6 runs he’s allowed. I expect good things from Darren if he stays healthy the rest of the season.

That would explain his outstanding WHIP (0.857) and OPP BA (.200), but only pretty good ERA (3.31)

If he stays healthy for another month or so and keeps his numbers close to what they are, O'Day will be a sneaky good trade candidate.  He's owed $9 mil next year which is no longer premium money for a reliever.

Well, it's still premium money for a good reliever.  Maybe not a top-shelf closer.  But O'Day isn't that.  

I think he can be dealt, I just wouldn't expect anything beyond a C prospect.

Just remember he's got trade protection which generally lowers a player's return when traded.

He is now 10-and-5 and can veto any trade.   My guess is it’s DC or nothing.

In 3 outings since returning from injury, O'Day has ceded only 1 base-runner (a Double) while not allowing any runs.

If he can stay healthy and pitch well over the next month, maybe they can move him.  But he needs to prove that he can stay healthy.
