How long can he keep this up? 1.60 WHIP but only a 3.86 ERA over the last 5 starts. I guess you just accept the good luck and hope he figures it out soon.

Think Buck is getting sick of the walks.

Poor guy has lost 2 games on walk off 3 run bombs.

The walks are getting obscene. Regardless, 7 of his last 10 starts he's allowed 2 ER or less. In 6 of those 7, he's allowed 1 ER or less. His record should be much better than 2-8 right now.

We're all sick of the walks, but where is Buck's distaste for Schoop's noodle of a bat? Flaherty's inability to bunt? Lough and Joseph being absolute disasters with the bat?

Or how about Buck's blah-blah-blah over routine being oh so important for starters...yet he yo-yo's and screws over Gausman time and time again.

Sorry, Buck, but if you're going to call a spade a spade for one player...do it to the rest. And even yourself sometimes.

This is the 2014 Ubaldo Jimenez Today thread. Better get used to the idea that he might be criticized for walking more than one guy for every inning pitched. Especially by the manager.

While Ubaldo may have been lucky to allow only one run, he has been very unlucky with the support from his offense and the bullpen. He is last among qualified starters in run support (2.53 runs per game), and it's not even close (next is 3.33 runs/game). He's also been no-decisioned in four games where he left with the lead. (Note: McFarland did bail him out of a major jam yesterday.)
