That's what will happen when your BABIP is .390. .140 points higher than his BABIP last season.

Something's gotta give with him and putting men on base. Walks and strikeouts seem to be in line and seems to have good command over all his pitches. I think it goes the other way and some of those hit balls stop falling in and he goes through a dominate stretch (assuming he isn't overused).

So what you're saying is that he has been unlucky to have the base runners and lucky that he has not blown more saves? It sounds like a good trade off as long as there are no blown saves but the luck won't last (and hopefully not the inflated BABIP either). My guess is Hunter will have a 1-2-3 inning by the end of the season.

It's an amazing stat...no 1-2-3 innings, but also 11/12 saves converted, and no losses. The one good thing is that so far he has avoided the longball except that one to Colby Rasmus, and we ended up winning that game.

The 9th today was another case in point of how Buck could play matchups. Could have brought in Patton for Fowler, then go to Tommy. At least you have a better chance at getting Fowler.

Also in Tommy's defense Fowler just did a nice job of fighting off a tough pitch.

That's fair. RH have been quite fortunate off him. Still his HR rate is down 5% and his LOB% is down 13%. So, he's also had his share of good luck.

Its not just an unlucky BABIP. His SSR is way down. He needs to start missing more bats.

His K rate is higher than it's ever been.

He was 143 out of 172 qualified relievers in swinging strike % entering yesterday. he has been unlucky in BABIP but I think its fair to say he has been very lucky with his K rate.
