Beats me. Who says they canceled a physical? Sounds like another rumor to me. But, just for grins, let's say they did. If there is concern about his hip (which I have no idea about), then maybe they need a specialist in that kind of thing to look at him instead of whoever the generalist is. Maybe they're on the phone finding out who the best Dr's are about degenerative hip issues. It could be lots of things. Just because we don't know what's going on, that doesn't mean it's fishy. All it means is that we don't know.

Agreed ... But the only thing from all of this that I know truly to be fact is Jones told a reporter who taped the conversation said he was on his way here. I know his story changed ...but the tape recording didn't. Maybe they need a specialist & need to wait ... But still wouldn't it make sense to get him here one way or the other.

Beats me, but I don't care really. Call me silly, but I don't think what plane he gets on is a major issue, do you?

Sounds like a cover-up for Angelos' meddling is underway.

How do you really know he has a problem before his physical? Bring him in and check him out throughly before a doctor would even make this comment.

It also didn't sound like Jones was having any problems playing winter ball in Venezuela. If Jones really had problems, wouldn't the Mariners want him to rest and not play this winter? Would they really allow their top prospect to risk further injury playing winter ball?

I agree. This has all the makings of a PR cover-up to save face after Angelos' meddling has caused an uproar amongst the fans. They've played this game before and nixed a deal because of a supposed health problem. Can't remember who it was off hand (aaron Sele maybe??). Jones has been talked about for the past few months and all of a sudden now this is an issue? Where have all the investigative reporters been the past few months? How come it's been hidden until now? How did all of a sudden someone in the O's front office find out about this when they haven't given Jones a physical? Isn't that the purpose of the physical. Bring him in and check him out. Either he has it or he doesn't. This doesn't pass the sniff test. It reeks of BS and of Angelos. We need to start a non-profit organization dedicated to getting Angelos to sell the team. The first priority should be renting out billboards along I-95 that demand that Angelos sell the Orioles. We need to start the revolution.
