14 Strikeouts and only 1 Walk in that span.

The only hits ceded in that span were 4 singles.

But wait, I thought the cupboard was bare? ) :D

Quality over quantity.

There may not be a lot of them, but the ones that are there are looking pretty good.

11 MONTHS LATER:

Jones and Doyle are gone.

Miranda is up.

I'm actually glad that they are keeping Gunkel down at AAA. It is his first year at that level, and he has been solid but not spectacular ...... I'd prefer that he not be thrown to the wolves just yet as a response to our desperate need for starting pitching in the Majors. Miranda 3 years older than Gunkel, and he has had 3 consecutive dominant starts at AAA.
