2015 Tigers- Finished season with 74-87 record

2011 Rangers- Finished season with 96-66 record, lost to Cardinals in WS

2003 Royals- Finished season with 83-79 record

2003 Giants- Finished season with 100-61 record, lost to Marlins in NLDS

2002 Giants- Finished season with 95-66 record, lost to Angels in World Series

1998 Indians- Finished season with 89-73 record, lost to Yankees in ALCS

1996 Rangers- Finished season with 90-72 record, lost to Yankees in ALDS

1994 Braves- Finished season with 68-46 record

1992 Yankees- Finished season with 76-86 record

1992 Blue Jays- Finished season with 96-66 record, Won World Series

1991 White Sox- Finished season with 87-75 record

1990 Reds- Finished season with 91-71 record, Won World Series

On the flip side of the coin, 9 out of those 12 teams went on to have really good seasons. Hopefully the Orioles won't flop hard after a great start to the season like the 1992 Yankees and 2015 Tigers did.

7 of 12 is good isn't it? It's a better than 50% chance based on this scenario for a team picked to be among the worst in the AL. It's good to have these six in the win column now rather than needing six wins or to run the table to make the Wild Card in the last week.

Well, it should be 2/3 if not for the '94 strike.

10 out of 12 of those teams finished with a winning record.

That's 83%.

So while a postseason berth may not be a lock, the likelihood of a winning season seems to be pretty high.

Wow.

Try to contain your enthusiasm.

They're only 6 and 0.

Try to wait until they're at least 10 and 0 before you relegate them to the basement.

Did those teams have as many questions about their pitching, though? A 6-0 start is fantastic, but things are bound to come back to earth eventually. It's too early for me to start getting my hopes up. ;)
