After the O's' acquired Soto they had to fix him. Which they did by simplifying his delivery. After they fixed him he pitched 20 games, 16.1 IP to an ERA of 1.10 and a FIP of 2.62. I don't know the O's would not want to retain him. -

Taking this back to my original question. We essentially have 10 members of the staff set. You may or may not want them all but the Os will. So, do you want Suarez to be on the remaining 2 starters or your other reliever? -

Which makes him a total no brainer keep. Having that flexibility is a huge bonus. -

He doesn’t have talent issues…he is a flawed older prospect though. He has less question marks than either of those guys do and has experienced some success at the Ml level. -
Akin has one option left. When he was optioned in 2024 he did not stay in the minors for 20 days so that means the option was not used.
