Only because he is unaduleratedly positive about everything Orioles related. They say he is very prepared and works extremely hard. He has a nice voice and has some broadcasting skills. Unlike, for instance, FP Santangelo.

And positivity for the home team is problematic... why, exactly?

Moore has an ERA of 3.4 vs the American League this year he has been brutal in three starts vs NL teams.

I know a lot of people would like to see us pick up Moore, but the guy gives up a ton of fly balls. The way the ball carries in OPACY in the summer, combined with our Of defense this year not being up to our usual standards...could be a recipe for disaster.

Hunter wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth...it was a kool aid ladle. Otherwise, he's OK.

I have no idea why so many people here act like listening to Hunter is some form of torture. What's the big deal?

It's real: it ruins the game for me. I can take it when Palmer's the other half because he seems to get constantly annoyed by Hunter too and expresses it directly to him. I feel represented.

I like an announcer who roots for the home team, and gets more excited when we hit a HR than when the other team does

But you can still do that while also pointing out negative things. John Miller certainly did.

On the subject of enthusiastic announcers, was there a thread or even a mention on OH when Tom Marr passed away last week? If there was, I missed it.

Tom was not a technically competent radio play by play announcer, a fact that was only underscored when he was paired with Chuck Thompson and later with John Miller. But he loved the O's and had great enthusiasm, and of course he got to call games for some great teams. So I have fond memories of Tom Marr.
