SIMPLIFIED Scenarios now that Seattle is eliminated:

1) ORIOLES BEAT YANKEES

A. Toronto beats Boston

-- Tor #1 WC, Balt #2. Balt @ Tor wild card game Tuesday

-- Detroit eliminated

-- If Cle beats KC, Cle has HFA in ALDS vs Boston. If KC beats Cle, Cle plays at Detroit Monday even though Detroit is eliminated. If Cle wins, they have HFA in ALDS vs Boston; if Detroit wins, Boston has HFA.

B. Boston beats Toronto

-- Orioles are #1 WC

-- If Atlanta beats Detroit, Toronto is the #2 Wild Card. Tor @ Balt WC Game Tuesday. If Detroit wins, they play Cleveland Monday. If they lose that, Toronto is the #2 WC. WC game Tor @ Balt Tuesday. If Detroit beats Cleveland, Det@Tor game 163 to decide the #2 WC on Tuesday. #2 WC @ Baltimore Wednesday. Likely afternoon since NLWC game is at night and winner also has to play in Texas Thursday.

-- also, if KC beats Cle Sunday, Boston has HFA in the ALDS. If Cle beats KC, they play @Det Monday (even if Det lost to Atl and was eliminated). If Cle wins that game they have HFA vs Bos in the ALDS, if they lose Boston does.

2) ORIOLES LOSE TO YANKEES

A. Toronto beats Boston

-- Toronto is the #1 WC

-- If Atl beats Det, O's are the 2nd WC. WC game Tuesday, Balt@Tor.

-- If Det beats Atl, Det hosts Cle Monday. If Det wins, Det@Balt Tuesday to decide the #2 WC. Winner plays WC game at Toronto Wednesday. If Cle beats Detroit, Balt @ Tor WC game Tuesday.

-- if Cle beats KC, they have HFA in the ALDS vs Boston. If KC wins, Cle must play at Det Monday even if Det lost to Atl and was eliminated Sunday. If Cle beats Det, they have HFA for the ALDS, if they lose to Det, Boston has HFA.

B. Boston beats Toronto

-- Orioles and Jays are tied

-- if Detroit loses to Atlanta, or if they beat Atlanta Sunday and lose to Cleveland Monday, wild card game is Tuesday. Balt @ Tor.

-- if Detroit wins both games, a 3-way tie for the two wild cards is settled as follows:

Tuesday: Det @ Tor

Wednesday: Tuesday LOSER @ Baltimore

Thursday:. Wild card game between Tuesday and Wednesday winners. Possible games and their locations: Balt@Tor, Det@Tor, Det@Balt.

In this scenario the start of the ALDS in Texas is moved from Thu to Fri. Game 2 would be Sat and I assume the scheduled Saturday travel day is eliminated and they would play games 3 and 4 in the wild card city as scheduled Sunday and Monday.

-- if Cleveland beats KC, they have HFA in the ALDS vs Boston. If they lose, they play at Detroit Monday even if Detroit has lost and been eliminated. If they beat Detroit, they have HFA in the ALDS. If they lose, Boston does.

If Boston wins tomorrow they have to make Indians play on Monday either way right? Unless both Tigers and Indians lose tomorrow.

Cleveland is half game ahead of Boston, but Boston has the tiebreak.

So if Boston wins and Cleveland loses, Boston is a half game up with the tiebreak, so the game wouldn't be be necessary for Cleveland.

If Cleveland wins and Boston loses, Cle would lead by 1.5 games, so Cleveland would have the home field.

So the game is only necessary for Cleveland if Bos&Cle both win, or if Bos&Cle both lose.

Right, you covered it. We want the Indians to win tomorrow if Boston wins. If Boston loses we want the Indians to lose because if needed Monday's game would still matter to them.

Just hope we win.

Actually if we win and Boston wins, we might want Cleveland to lose.

Because maybe we want the game to mean NOTHING to Cleveland in that case. So if Detroit beats Atlanta and Cleveland, they tie Toronto. Then Detroit and Toronto would have to play a playoff and use good pitchers Tuesday with the winner having to fly to Baltimore before Wednesday's game.

But that would eliminate the off day between the WC game and game 1 I. Texas, so that's a trade-off I guess.

Just win, baby.

Gausman better put up goose-eggs. And go deep.

Cessa's last 8: 3.72 ERA .243/.284/.445 - .729 OPS, 10 homers in 46 IP.

Doesn't walk many guys. Has pitched pretty well. Doesn't strike out many either.

Hasn't pitched very well at home. 5.12 ERA. But the slash line is very similar (home vs. away).

He doesn't have pronounced splits at all, either. Pretty even.

Can pump it up to 98. Usually throws in the low/mid 90s, though. He has a very good slider and a decent curve and change.

I think Cessa is going to live in the strike zone. He throws a lot of 4 seamers. 50% of the time.

I have a feeling the Yankees will have Cessa throw more sliders, curves and changeups.

My main issue with this...the Tigers and Jays both have solid rotations. So it really doesn't matter.
